MONTE CARLO DOUALIYA NOW BROADCASTING ON MEDIUM WAVE TO GAZA

Following disruptions to energy supplies in the Gaza Strip, Monte Carlo Doualiya – along with other local FM radio stations - is no longer accessible via this mode of reception in the area.

Starting Monday December 4th, Monte Carlo Doualiya - the Arabic radio of France Médias Monde - is using an emergency system to broadcast daily from 6 pm to 7 pm (Gaza time) on medium wave 639kHz. The signal can also be picked up in Alexandria, Cairo, Jerusalem, Beirut, the Syrian coast and Damascus.

For an hour each day, listeners are able to listen live to MCD's main evening news program, offering balanced coverage of the conflict, as well as the latest regional and international news.

Thanks to the good understanding between France Médias Monde and the BBC News World Service, this emergency medium-wave broadcast of MCD is on the same frequency as BBC World, which broadcasts earlier in the afternoon.
