Special coverage : Women in Afghanistan

Friday 21 April 2023

Since the return to power of the Taliban in August 2021, Afghan girls and women have seen their daily freedoms disappear. Afghanistan is now considered by the UN as the "most repressive country for women". In this worrying context, France 24’s four channels will offer special coverage on the conditions of women in Afghanistan on Friday 21 April.

     - Throughout the day, France 24 will air a series of reports, focusing on Afghan women's access to education and employment. Interviews and reports will also be broadcast in news bulletins.

     - France 24 and InfoMigrants journalists specialised in Afghanistan will share their knowledge and provide in-depth analysis on the current situation.

     - At 7.10 pm* « The World This Week » presented by François Picard (in English), Stéphanie Antoine (in French), Taoufik Mjaied (in Arabic) and Santiago López (in Spanish) will focus on women’s situation in Afghanistan.

     - All reports, interviews as well as exclusive content can be found on france24.com and on social media.
