The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Day-365 «Celebrate Paris» With France Medias Monde

Special Coverage on RFI, France 24 and Monte Carlo Doualiya

On Wednesday, July 26, France Medias Monde’s channels will present stories and live of The Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024, marking one year before the competition begins. Throughout the day, RFI, France 24, and Monte Carlo Doualiya will engage with international teams and athletes, with a particular focus on Africa, and air special editions and numerous reports to celebrate sports worldwide. Journalists will analyze France's preparations to host the Games and explore the key aspects of this international competition.

 

Until July 26th, viewers can follow athletes' training on three channels, including radio, television, and social media. During the Games, from July 26th to August 11th, France Medias Monde invites listeners, viewers, and internet users to experience the events on RFI, the official broadcaster of the Olympic Games in sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and France, and to catch the highlights on France 24 and MCD. Results will also be covered in all the group's languages, showcasing various disciplines and interviews with the athletes. 

 

Wednesday, July 26th Highlights

Tony Estanguet, the President of the Paris 2024 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the special guest on France 24 and RFI.

He will be interviewed by Jean Émile Jammine on France 24 in English at 4.45 pm* and can also be found on rfi.com

On France 24:

Destination Paris

> Throughout the day, France 24's special reporters will provide live coverage from the sites, installations in Paris and the surrounding area, all of which have been selected for the Paris 2024 Games.

 

> At 8 pm*, France 24 will air special editions presented by Selina Sykes (English), Benoit Perrochais (French), Olivier Fiani (Arabic), and Juan Pupiales Eumar Essaá (Spanish). At 8:24 pm*, they will mark 365 days until the Olympic Games begin.

 

In English: Simon Rofe, sports diplomacy expert, and Clara Copponi, French racing cyclist.

 

In French: Clara Copponi, Eric Monin (Ambassador, Paris 2024, and Administrator of the CNOSF), and Mustapha Berraf (President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa).

 

In Arabic: Wadih Abdelnour (journalist and Olympic Games history specialist), Azza Besbes (Tunisian fencer who participated in the Rio Games in 2016), and Mustapha Berraf. This special edition will be jointly broadcast on France 24 in Arabic and on MCD.

 

In Spanish: Harold Mayne-Nicholls (CEO in charge of the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023) and Catalina Melendro (from the Colombian Olympic Academy).

Offshoring of « RFI Matin » on the Seine: 8 am-10 am*, presented by Nathalie Amar

RFI will put its studio on the "Gustave" pontoon of the Vedettes de Paris docked at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, In two main sections, Nathalie and her guests look back at the opening ceremony, the Olympic Village, the challenges of security and technological development, as well as the training of the athletes, particularly in Africa.

RFI in French will air a new bilingual podcast series, "Parlez-vous Paris?", to help Internet users learn or improve their command of the French language. The first 5 episodes of this series are already available on the website "Le français facile avec RFI”
