One year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, France 24's four channels (in English, French, Arabic and Spanish) offer special programs dedicated to the war and its effects around the world. To mark the occasion, France 24 is airing several special editions live from Kyiv and throughout Ukraine, as well as analysis on site, from Paris with international reporters and guests.  Reports, dedicated magazines, and interviews can also be followed on air and on social media. The editorial team also offers exclusive digital developments and looks back at the coverage of the conflict on the ground by France 24’s reporters.

 

SPECIAL EDITIONS

 

From February 22nd, France 24's special correspondents in Ukraine Robert Parsons (en), Catherine Norris-Trent (en), Marc Owen (en), Pauline Godart (fr), Karim Yahiaoui (fr), Culliver Cragg (fr), Mayssa Awad (ar), Raid Abu Zaideh (ar), Mohamed Farhat (Ar) and Georges Yazbeck (Ar), as well as special reporters and correspondents in Russia, Daniel Hawkins (en), Julian Colling (fr) and Mazen Abbas (ar), take part in the special editions and news bulletins.

 

Throughout the day on February 24th France 24’s reporters who have been covering the conflict in Ukraine, Elena Volochine, Gwendoline Debono, Melina Huet, Luke Shrago, Andrew Hiller, Amar Al Hameedawi, Abdallah Malkawi, Tarek Kai and Abdelkader Dermas, the strategic consultant Guillaume de Rougé (fr), and France 24's economic and international columnists Olivier Farry (en), Armelle Charrier (fr), Gauthier Rybinski (fr), Bruno Darous (fr), Bilal Tarabey (fr), Ramatène Aouitia (ar), Jamal Boudouma (ar) and Abdallah Al-Ali (ar) will be reporting live from Paris.

 

France 24's correspondents in bordering countries and in Africa are also mobilised to report on the consequences of this conflict in other parts of the world.

 

RFI's and France 24's editorial teams are joining forces to offer on-site coverage during their Kyiv relocations, with experts from both media on each channel.

 

On February 24th from 2pm* to 3pm*, France 24's special reporters in Kyiv and expert journalists in Paris in Arabic, Mayssa Awad, Raid Abu Zaideh, Mohamed Farhat, Tarek Kai and Abdelkader Dermas, will appear live on the special edition of Monte Carlo Doualiya, the Arabic language radio station of France Médias Monde.

 

On February 24th France 24's four channels will offer special editions, some of which will be relocated to Kyiv with guests and the channel's editorial editors, correspondents and special envoys as well as numerous reports.

> From 1pm to 1.30 pm*: special edition from Paris, presented by Marc Owen (in English) Judith Grimaldi (in French), and Hassania Malih (in Arabic), with special correspondents in live coverage from Kyiv and Kherson

> At 8 pm*: Special edition from Kyiv, presented by Marc Owen (in English) Gulliver Cragg, Nabia Makhloufi (in French), and Mayssa Awad (in Arabic)

 

MAGAZINES AND REPORTERS

 

> On February 25th at 1.15 pm* Talking Europe, the weekly program dedicated to Europe, presented by Armen Georgian offers a special edition and welcomes Vsevolod Chentsov, Ukraine Ambassador to the European Union.

 

> On February 24th at 12:15* pm*, Encore! presented by Olivia Salazar-Winspear, an interview with Alyona Tokovenko, a Ukrainian painter who arrived in France in May 2022 and benefits from the emergency support for artists affected by the conflict set up by the Cité internationale des arts. À l'Affiche! presented by Louise Dupont, welcomes the young Ukrainian bayton Igor Mostovoi, originally from Mariupol, and tells the story of his journey to leave his country at war, and his commitment through music to raise funds for associations that help Ukrainians.

 

> On February 24th, the weekly show of those who make a difference in a world still largely dominated by men, The 51 percent by Annette Young at 4.45 pm* (in English), ActuElles presented by Laure Manent at 4.15 pm* (in French), هي الحدث by Mayssaloun Nassar at 3.15 pm* (in Arabic), Ellas Hoy by Ángela Gómez offers a special edition dedicated to Ukrainian women, whose lives have been turned upside down since 24 February 2022, the start of the invasion by Russian troops.

 

> On February 24th at 9.45 pm*, Eye on Africa looks at the persistent difficulties, particularly food, faced by the African continent against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine.

 

> On February 24th at 5.45 pm*, France in Focus offers a report on Ukrainian refugees in France, reported by Jonathan Walsh and Natacha Vesnitch.

 

> On February 25th at 9 pm*, Reporters + offers a documentary "Ukraine, the shadow soldiers" reported by Gwendoline Debono, which lifts the veil on the clandestine fighting against the Russian troops in Ukraine.

 

> On February 25th at 7.15 am*, France 24's Arabic language Correspondents' Diary is devoted to Ukraine.
